ABOUT ARTEMIS

Hello! My name is Artemis. I am a playwright, director, and actor currently based in NYC. My work has been performed at The Tank, The Chain, and Court Square Theatre. I double majored in Theatre and Mathematics at Kent State University before working as a literary intern at Florida Studio Theatre.

I like to make bizarre, inquisitive theatre. My art minimizes distances: brings you closer to people, communities, and ideas. I want to remind you that we are all more similar than we think, for better or for worse. My current artistic focuses are the manosphere, linguistics, and death positivity.

I believe in making performances that are equivalent exchanges between the artists and the audience. The theatre should primarily be a hub for community, and we must strive to create environments that encourage and challenge each other.

I run the Instagram account @iwannaaffordtheatre, which promotes discounted theatre in NYC. I see a lot of shows (check out my Theatre Diary!) and I want to encourage others to do the same while being transparent about the cost.
